Kyocera and KG Electric celebrate 21 years together in Southern Africa

KG Electric recently marked the 21st anniversary of the arrival of  it’s first shipment of Kyocera solar PV modules in South Africa. Since then many thousands of Kyocera panels have been installed in the Southern African region.

Huge learnings have been made along the way and many improvements made to cope with the harsh radiation and fluctuating climatic conditions of the region, especially the Northern Province. 

Defective product had in some cases been replaced long after product guarantees had expired ( common long-term performance warranties do not always apply - they are limited warranties that  apply to power performance, they are not product guarantees of the overall PV module construction)

A great lesson learnt was, that even the most rigorous climate chamber and accelerated aging laboratory tests can never take the place of actual long term experience in the field.
